P-RNAV and CDA Implementation Programme for Okęcie Approved.
On January 14, 2008 the P-RNAV and CDA implementation programme for was Okęcie approved by The President of Polish Air Navigation Services Agency. The day after, in PANSA’s headquarters the first official meeting of Planning Group, the unit appointed to work on the Program, took place. The Planning Group consists of the representatives of PANSA, Civil Aviation Office and the generalship of military Air Traffic Management.
The range of the Programme encloses the implementation of instrumental flight procedures based on P-RNAV in TMA Warszawa/Okęcie. The Programme concerns the formulating SID, STAR and non-precision instrumental approach procedures for all directions of Warszawa/Okęcie Airport airways with using DME/DME and GNSS area navigation sensors and accommodating conventional precision landing approach using ILS/DME system on 33 and 11 directions on Warszawa/Okęcie Airport where ILS is available.
P-RNAV implementation results from the implementation of PANSA’s schedule, and the expectations of International Air Transport Association. The implementation of the Programme has to provide the appropriate capacity of TMA Warszawa, necessary because of the steady rise of the number of operations in Warszawa/Okęcie Airport , by the effective organizing of the flow of the air traffic and shortening the trajectory of flights. The next effect of the implementation will be the decrease of the negative effect on the environment by shortening the length of the flight and the implementation of CDA method and fixed descent in arrival and approach, which will cut down the noise, and by cutting down the fuel usage will cut down the emission of fumes to the atmosphere. The next step is reorganizing TMA Warszawa in connection with planned launching of new airports in Warsaw area.
