In consideration of potential impact of navigation charges increase on the air traffic to/from Polish airports, Polish Air Navigation Services Agency (PANSA) with the approval of Civil Aviation Office on June 11th organized a meeting with the representatives of Polish regional airports’ operators.
The meeting was attended by the representatives of Civil Aviation Office, Institute of Meteorology and Water Management as well as the representatives of regional airports of Bydgoszcz, Wrocław, Katowice, Łódź, Kraków, Gdańsk, Warszawa, Zielona Góra, Poznań and Modlin.
The meeting initiated open discussion on the potential to optimize the terminal charges and provided an opportunity to discuss the principles of how to calculate air navigation charges rates, the impact of investment expenditure incurred by PANSA and costs of maintenance of operating air navigation infrastructure as well as the influence of airport operation time span on terminal charges rates.
Participants of the meeting agreed to hold bilateral meetings of PANSA and airports’ representatives to develop the issue of terminal charges optimization. Conclusions and solutions arrived at will be presented at the meeting with regional airports scheduled by PANSA for the second half of this year.
