The new radar at Okęcie is operational

Today we have commissioned a new radar set (primary and secondary radar) near the airport at the Warsaw-based Okęcie. It was built and commissioned in a record time of 11 months, it replaced the worn out ASR-9/MSSR radar, the antenna of which made 147 933 000 rotations during its 23 years of operation.

Polish Air Navigation Services Agency invites to negotiations regarding the sale of the aircraft L-410 UVP-E15 Turbolet, SP-TPB.

The aircraft which is the subject of the sale can be viewed in Hangar "A" at Frederic Chopin Airport in Warsaw,  17 Stycznia 49, between 30.06-04.07.2016. from 8.00 to 14. Negotiations shall  begin on 11.07.2016 at 9:00 am and end on 14.07.2016  at 14:00.

On the 27th of June, the aviation environment met at the VII Aviation Breakfast, the main theme of which was the Central Airport project.

Organized by the Polish Aviation Market Portal (PRTL.pl), the industry breakfast was an opportunity for the environment to discuss the opportunities, constraints, solutions, and above all, the advisability of the implementation of the Central Airport project. Opinions of experts in this matter are divided, but the main conclusion of yesterday's lively discussion is the need to create a strategy for Poland's air transport, since it in fact may be the beginning for analytical work for the CPL (Central Airport). Aviation Breakfast was held on a one-off basis at the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency. Deputy Minister Jerzy Szmit from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Construction was listening in to the discussion.

DRONES DURING HOLIDAYS - WHERE CAN AND CAN'T WE FLY ...

The holiday flying season has started. The sky will be crowded, not only thanks to charter the flights to hot countries, but also with the launch of thousands of drones, which are especially popular in Poland. It is even said that Poland is one of the countries in which the drone market is growing at the fastest pace.
According to the Civil Aviation Authority, in mid-May 2016 in Poland, we had almost 2.5 thousand valid certificates of qualifications issued for operators of an unmanned aircraft, as drones should formally be called. But a certificate of qualifications is valid only for people who want to use drones for purposes other than sports and recreation, including primarily for commercial purposes. The others use drones without such documents. However, all pilots of such "aircraft" have the same responsibility for violation of the rules. And they boil down primarily to checking that the area in which we want to use the drone has not just been excluded from traffic, and to maintaining an appropriate distance from "animate and inanimate objects."
